Initially, the idea of creating my own platform for publishing content arose from the desire to share progress on the Electro Flevo bicycle. Of course, the site for posts about the bike should also be a custom-built "bicycle." As is often the case with pet projects, grey.one quickly gathered ambitious ideas. A QR code generator was added. Then information about other projects, at various stages of readiness, began to appear.
Interesting content should not be limited to just one language, so I added an interface translation in English and Spanish, and then integrated the OpenAI API for neuro-translation of content. For this purpose, a custom block editor proved to be extremely useful, supporting semantic block markup with the ability to insert different types of content - STL models in 3D, maps for terra, embeds from Instagram and YouTube, etc.
I ended up with an uncomfortably large number of pet projects, and I was alone. I decided to create public roadmaps for the projects to assess the potential interest in the projects and specific features. For this, it was necessary to implement some form of authorization - in the initial stage, I set up login through Telegram and Yandex. Having profiles unlocked potential opportunities for comments and other interactivity, but that's a problem for my future self. Here, you can see the roadmap for grey.one.
